Santa Ana, CA (January 17, 2003) — SRS Labs has announced the first professional SRS Circle Surround encoding software plug-in for Digidesign’s Pro Tools digital audio workstations. The new product, SRS Circle Surround TDM Pro features an SRS Circle Surround encoder and a decoder for monitoring surround mixes. The software will be priced at $795 MSRP and is expected to begin shipping early in the second quarter.
SRS Circle Surround TDM Pro enables Pro Tools users to encode up to 6.1 channels of surround sound into stereo delivery formats for television, cable programming, music applications, and other media. In addition to broadcasting and postproduction, this new surround encoding tool is well suited for production of 5.1 or 6.1 music content with delivery via industry standard compact discs.
SRS Circle Surround VST Pro requires Digidesign’s Pro Tools 6.0 or higher software, and Digidesign Mix, HD or HD Accel hardware for Mac OSX- and Windows XP-supported computers. In addition to the encoding software, the product also includes a decoding plug-in, which is used to monitor playback during production, ensuring audio professionals that they are listening to exactly what their intended end-users will hear.
