HOLLYWOOD, CA — Surround 2004 Conference and Expo — which has pioneered production techniques and market acceptance of 5.1 music entertainment for DVD, broadcast, and games, — has announced that it will be held this year on August 31 — September 1, 2004 at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel in downtown Hollywood.
Now celebrating its sixth year, Surround 2004 will be co-locating both its conference and exhibition with its sister show, DVD Entertainment, as well as several other related entertainment media events at the new Entertainment Media Expo (EMX). The Entertainment Media Expo is being presented by the Media-Tech Association, and is co-sponsored by Surround 2004 producer United Entertainment Media and the International Recording Media Association.
Annually, the Surround Conference Expo draws leading figures in music and sound production, engineering and label distribution, to discuss new advancements in creative techniques and marketing opportunities for surround music. The event has spawned the acclaimed Surround Music Awards and the Surround Broadcast Summit.
“Surround 2004 will retain its own identity and presence under the new EMX umbrella,” says conference founder Martin Porter. “With so many members of the DVD entertainment industry on site, co-location provides obvious benefits to all attendees and exhibitors. There simply will be more choices of conferences and a larger selection of audio and video production, manufacturing and packaging manufacturers showing their products and services.”
New additions for Surround 2004 include tracks on DVD Music and Concert Video; a Game Audio Symposium, and a Surround Dance Music Summit.
Entertainment Media Expo is the largest U.S. event dedicated to the production, packaging, manufacturing and archiving of recorded content for music, video and interactive entertainment. Other co-located conferences and exhibits include: MediaTech (for DVD and CD manufacturers and packagers); DVD Entertainment (for DVD producers, marketers and creatives); Entertainment Packaging Conference (for DVD, CD and game packagers and package designers); and Entertainment Asset Management (for content owners, librarians, archivists, mastering and authoring houses).
