SoundField Surround Zone Plug-In For Nuendo
Soundfield has announced the release of the new Surround Zone plug-in for Nuendo 2 for both Mac and PC. The plug-in utilizes the B-Format information generated by any of the current SoundField microphone systems. Once the SoundField B-Format is in the Nuendo environment the plug-in enables the user, either live or in post-production, to generate a choice of mono, stereo, M/S, plus three separate 5.1 arrays and individual 6.1 and 7.1 arrays, with independently variable width of both the front and rear pairs, phase coherent LFE and individual level controls with Mute and Solo all with bargraph metering. The software also provides additional control over the sound such as: 360-degree horizontal rotation; tilting of the microphone pick-up angle by plus or minus 45 degrees in the vertical plane; and zooming in on sound sources. The Surround Zone can output mono, stereo, M/S, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1. It is currently available for SADiE and Nuendo, with a Pro Tools version being available soon.

Mad Scientist Cable Tester
Mad Scientist Designs is proud to introduce “The Cable Scientist!” The Cable Scientist makes testing all of your pro audio cables simple.
Built out of 16 gauge steel and covered in a blue powder coat, this unit is built for the rigors of the road.
To test a cable, simply insert each end into send and receive respectively, and then step through the number ofconductors in the cable via the rotary switch. The LEDs above the switch indicate correct or incorrect wiring.
If the cable is wired correctly each step of the switch will light the corresponding top and bottom Red and Green LEDs. If the cable is wired incorrectly, the cable tester will indicate which pins are swapped and if it is on the Send or Receive end. Red LEDs indicate Receive and Green LEDs indicate Send.
