Holophone, a division of Rising Sun Productions, Ltd., announced that they has entered into a long-term licensing agreement with the Moscow International House of Music to provide their Holophone surround sound microphone system as the standard, in-house audio recording system for all its live performances. This is the first licensing arrangement of its kind. The Holophone system can capture up to 6.1 discrete channels of surround sound.
The Moscow House of Music is a 10-story music complex featuring a symphony hall with more than 1800 seats, a chamber hall, and a multipurpose hall with an overall capacity of more than 3000 seats. The House also has a two-story basement and total area of more than 40,000 square meters.
The audio-video studio with super modern technical equipment will enable the Moscow House of Music to record not only concerts, but also rehearsals of the worlds outstanding performers, says Grigory Kasatkin, systems engineer for ISPA (the group responsible for the acquisition and installation of the audio/visual equipment). We searched worldwide to find the best microphone technology for recording live performances in surround sound, and we found it in the Holophone System, he states.
