Winners of the Cinema Audio Society Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing Announced

The 39th Cinema Audio Society Awards Gala was held March 8 at The Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles. There, statuettes were awarded for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for Motion Pictures and Television.

The winner of the Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing award for the Motion Picture category is Road To Perdition; re-recording mixers: Scott Millan, C.A.S., Bob Beemer, C.A.S., production mixer: John Pritchett, C.A.S.

The winner of the Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing award in the category of Television Movies or Mini-Series was Shackleton — Part 1; re-recording mixer: Dave Humphries, A.M.P.S., production mixer: John Rodda, A.M.P.S.

The winner of the Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing award in the category of Television Series was The West Wing — “Posse Comitatus”; re-recording mixers: Dan Hiland, C.A.S., Gary D. Rogers, C.A.S., production mixer: Patrick Hanson

The winner of the Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing award in the category of Television Non-Fiction, Variety, Music Series or Special was 19th Winter Olympics: Opening Ceremonies; music/production mixer: Edward J. Greene, sound/production mixer: Patrick Baltzell, pre-production music mixers: Shawn Murphy, C.A.S., Joel Iwataki, David Greene

The Cinema Audio Society also bestowed their Career Achievement Award to long-time production sound mixer, Charles Wilborn.
