Canton Movie LE 125 Home Theater System
Canton has introduced the Movie LE 125 home theater system as part of their LE series of loudspeakers. The package consists of four identical two-way satellite speakers for front and surround L/R channels, a matching horizontal center-channel speaker, and a 150-watt active subwoofer.
The Movie LE 125 satellites deliver a dynamic range of 43 Hz to 26 kHz. The front and surround speakers each feature a 5-inch polypropylene woofer and 1-inch fabric tweeter. The center channel uses identical drivers to ensure a seamless soundstage, but employs a pair of woofers for better dialog reproduction, according to the company.
The LE 125 subwoofer features Cantons SC technology, extending the systems bass response all the way down to 22 Hz, while maintaining low distortion. It features a10-inch cellulose-graphite cone, bass reflex enclosure, and 150-watt built-in amplifier. It includes variable bass level, switchable phase control, and a crossover that can be adjusted from 50 to 150 Hz.
The Canton Movie LE 125 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $1599. The Take 5-LE 1 system is currently available at a suggested retail price of $1000.

High-end computer gaming machine manufacturer Alienware will also ship the MegaWorks THX 6.1 speaker system this month, in custom-configured PCs featuring the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card.

Panasonic Slim Digital Receivers
Panasonic has introduced the SA-XR25 and SA-XR45 slim, digital receivers. The SA-XR25 and SA-XR45 are Panasonics second-generation, fully digital receivers. The receivers deliver 100 watts to each of the six channels.
Both models are equipped with 6-channel discrete inputs to deliver DVD-Audio music. They decode the DTS-ES and Dolby Digital EX surround formats, as well as Dolby Digital 5.1-channel sources and Dolby Pro Logic II.
A Digital Re-Master feature on the SA-XR45 adds home-theater-like sound quality to compressed music files such as MP3 tracks. In addition, the SA-XR45 also has a Second-Room Output with Independent Selection, enabling users in one room, for example, to use the receiver to watch a film, while those in another room can use it for listening to a CD or DVD-Audio disc.
