United Airlines Offers Passengers In-Flight 5.1

Silverline Records and Dolby Laboratories have teamed up this holiday season with United Airlines to offer travelers a multichannel music experience on all overseas 777 flights during the months of November and December. Utilizing the airlines in-flight entertainment system, passengers will be able to listen to a selection of Silverline Records DVD-Audio repertoire enhanced by Dolby Headphone technology. Dolby Headphone enables standard stereo headphones to realistically portray the surround sound experience of a five-speaker audio system as employed in home theater systems.

Silverline Records, a division of the 5.1 Entertainment Group, is providing music from several of their high-resolution DVD-Audio surround titles. Tracks included on the “Rhythms of the World” program are Bob Marley and The Wailers “Small Axe” and “Don’t Rock The Boat,” Ziroq “Que Pena,” and “Tierra Del Sur,” The Dubliners “The Wild Rover,” Ken Boothe “It’s Gonna Take A Miracle,” Wailing Souls “Face The Devil,” and Astrud Gilberto “Gingele.”
