Studio Technologies’ Model 65 Bass Manager
The Model 65 Bass Manager from Studio Technologies is designed to enhance the monitoring of multichannel surround sources during the recording, mixing, and mastering process. In addition, the Model 65 is applicable for any multichannel monitoring environment where all channels are not supported with loudspeakers that have extended low-frequency response.

The goal of the Model 65 is to ensure that the full audio bandwidth of all channels can be accurately monitored. The unit contains five full-bandwidth inputs, allowing connection of left, center, right, left surround, and right surround sources. The main inputs are electronically balanced with a nominal input level of +4 dBu. Audio sources connect to the Model 65 by means of a 25-pin D-subminiature connector. Each input has its own crossover filter, providing individual high- and low-pass outputs. The crossover implementation is a 24 dB-per-octave (4th order) Linkwitz-Riley filter with state-variable topology.
