New DVD Titles with DTS Announced for 2000
DTS has announced the latest updates to the 2000 release slate of DVD titles encoded with DTS 5.1 Digital Surround soundtracks. The diverse slate includes live concert performances mixed in multi-channel especially for DVD and several major motion pictures.
Universal Home Video leads the way with six new DTS-encoded DVD titles to be released day and date with the VHS releases: Bowfinger, The Story of Us, The Best Man, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, For the Love of the Game, and Burn the Floor. Additional titles will be announced during the second quarter of the year.
Live concert performances mixed in multi-channel for DVD are increasing in popularity, and Image Entertainment is excited to kick off the new year with the DTS-encoded DVD release of Sheryl Crow: Rockin’ the Globe “Live.” Image’s slate also includes DTS-encoded DVD releases of live performances featuring Peter Frampton, Brian Wilson, and The Cranberries.
Image Entertainment’s 2000 release slate of DTS-encoded, live concert DVD’s follows up the enormous success of last year’s The Eagles: Hell Freezes Over DVD, which has become the best selling music DVD ever.
A major slate of unique 5.1 DVD music discs has also been announced by the 5.1 Entertainment Group, and each title will include a DTS Digital Surround soundtrack. A total of 19 classical/instrumental DVDs will be released from Silverline Records, and 13 additional titles from Immergent Records, including several classic rock volumes and a variety of jazz and new age titles.
