Two New Titles to Feature Dolby Digital EX
Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator” and Brian DePalma’s “Mission To Mars” are the latest movies scheduled to be mixed and released to theatres with Dolby Digital Surround EXTM encoding. “Gladiator” is scheduled to be released May 5, 2000 from DreamWorks, while “Mission To Mars” will bow March 10, 2000 from the Touchstone Pictures division of Buena Vista. This brings the total number of Dolby Digital Surround EX-encoded theatrical titles to 15, including released and announced titles.

Although originally announced as an Dolby Digital Surround EX title, “End Of Days” was not released with the sound enhancement. “Memoirs Of A Geisha” and “Minority Report” were also previously announced for Dolby Digital Surround EX release, but neither title has been put into production.
