Aureal Announces Support for Interactive 3D Audio Level 2 Effort
Aureal Semiconductor Inc. has announced support for the Interactive 3D Audio Level 2 (I3DL2) initiative from the Interactive Audio Special Interest Group (IA-SIG). The I3DL2 effort will serve to create open industry guidelines for a new set of advanced interactive 3D audio features and functions.
The new Level 2 guidelines are designed to increase the quality and consistency of 3D audio entertainment on the PC and other digital entertainment platforms. Aureal intends to support I3DL2 in future generations of its award-winning A3D(TM) applications programming interface (API), Vortex(R) audio processors, and Vortex-based sound cards.
