DTS Promotes Jon Kirchner to President and Chief Operating Officer
DTS has announced the promotion of Jon Kirchner to president and chief operating officer. For the past eighteen months, Kirchner served as executive vice president, operations, managing the day-to-day operations of the company during a period of dynamic growth.

Kirchner joined the company in August 1993, shortly after DTS was founded. He initially served as chief financial officer and vice president of finance and business development. As a senior executive for most of the company’s history, Kirchner has participated in the explosive growth of DTS and its expansion from the leading provider of digital multichannel audio for cinemas into other entertainment markets, including home theater equipment, DVD, 5.1 music on CD, automotive, PC, and broadcast.

Dan Slusser, chief executive officer of DTS, says, “It has been a pleasure for me to work closely with Jon and to watch him assume added responsibilities almost on a daily basis. His elevation to president has been accomplished the old-fashioned way, he’s earned it.”

Slusser adds, “This appointment, in conjunction with recent additions to our talented senior management team, positions the company for long-term success.”

Prior to joining DTS, Kirchner worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers from 1989 to 1993. During his tenure at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Kirchner advised clients on financial restructuring, business turnaround, marketing positioning, and evaluation issues.
