Optibase Delivers First Dolby Licensed Single-Board Video and Audio Encoder

Optibase announces the availability of the MPEG MovieMaker(TM) 200 family of MPEG-1 and -2 single-board video and audio encoders. This new generation of MPEG and Dolby Digital encoding hardware is the first single-board encoder to receive full Dolby approval.

Targeted toward the networking, post-production, and DVD creation markets, the MPEG MovieMaker 200 family covers the entire audio and video encoding spectrum, from MPEG-1 to MPEG-2 Half D-1 to MPEG-2 Full D-1 encoding. Its video encoding circuit is based on the C-Cube DVxpert(TM) codec (encoder/decoder), which gives users the full benefit of real-time variable bit rate, lower delays and unsurpassed quality.

Optibase was granted full approval by Dolby Laboratories, making MPEG MovieMaker 200 the first single-board video and audio encoder to be licensed by Dolby. Moreover, Optibase’s MPEG MovieMaker 200 is also the first Dolby Digital encoder to provide for analog inputs, requiring no external A/D.
