The IDMA Announces Formation of the DVD Association
The Interactive Digital Media Association, with support of the members of DVDList, announces the formation of a new association, the DVD Association (DVDA). This association will be operated as a sister organization by the IDMA and two members of the DVDList will join the IDMA Board. The DVDA will also have an advisory council made up of industry representatives to help shape the DVD industry. Chairman of the IDMA, and now the DVDA, Richard French says, The IDMA was originally formed to support the developers of all the new digital platforms. As DVD has emerged as the predominant platform for this decade, it seems only sensible to focus our support on this platform.
The DVDAs first meeting will be held on August 15 during the DVD Pro conference at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in San Francisco. The association is offering free individual memberships during the 90-day start-up period to encourage those involved in DVD to join the DVDA.
