The Best Sounding Site on the World Wide Web Launches; SRSWOWcast.com Blends Broadcast Audio Technologies, Streaming Music and Entertainment Content with an Interactive Chat Community
SRSWOWcast.com, Inc., the Internet entertainment subsidiary of audio and voice technology pioneer SRS Labs, Inc., officially unveiled “The Best Sounding Site on the World Wide Web.” SRSWOWcast.com possesses Internet rights to all SRS audio and voice technologies and was established to provide these next generation sound and broadcast technologies to the global market. SRSWOWcast.com applies the interactive capabilities of the Internet to deliver an enhanced experience beyond what other traditional entertainment mediums, such as television or cable, can offer. By utilizing the latest streaming video technologies and the SRS Labs’ patented audio enhancement technologies, SRSWOWcast.com is a second generation, technology-driven, digital entertainment broadcasting website. The site’s content includes original entertainment programming and music, in addition to other shows previously seen on cable and network television. All programming on the site has been optimized for use with Microsofts Windows Media Player 7, which includes the SRS WOW technology.

As broadband connectivity increases and to address the burgeoning film and entertainment content available on the Internet, SRS Labs and SRSWOWcast.com has optimized its Circle Surround 5.1 (CS 5.1) as a multi-channel, Internet audio broadcast and delivery technology. Streamed content that has been encoded with Circle Surround technology can be played back through multiple surround speakers using a Circle Surround software decoder. Where multiple speakers are not available, SRS Labs virtualization technology, TruSurround, has been integrated with the multi-channel output from the Circle Surround software decoder. This unprecedented combination allows surround sound playback even from mono sources on a two-speaker system with complete surround sound effects. TruSurround has become a standard for multi-channel virtual surround playback on DVD players, televisions and consumer set-top box systems. SRS Labs has developed the bridge to bring this home theater standard to the Internet, starting with SRSWOWcast.com, who will feature these technologies later this summer for music net casting and surround sound broadcasts.
